New year, new you?

perfect5 As it is a new year and everyone is setting their new years resolutions, I came across this quote and it made me think about this idea of change and I think the problem for a lot of people is that they think they need to. Change is a big word, an extreme word, and I think it is the wrong word to use in this case. If we changed every year we would be a different person continuously, I think we need to do a U-turn on this statement and put our energy into being more true to ourselves. We spend a lifetime forming a personal outlook and with all the people, media and surroundings in our lives it can be hard to stick to our own views. To lead a truly satisfied live we need to be us, our own individual selves and to become a genuine, proud and grounded person takes work, experience and energy, and that’s what we should focus on a little more each year so that eventually we shape into a purely unique being.

Unless of course you are leading a life to satisfy others and you are not at all being yourself then yes, you need to change! But how can you set an example to others if you are trying to be something you’re not. I feel there is a lot to be said for being a truly genuine person, honest, real, with an unstoppable belief in yourself with the ability to be grounded. This can also be applied to a fashion perspective, this year, don’t look at what celebrities are wearing, take a day out to try on what suits you and be the person that inspires your own style, be your own trend setter! With that said I hope everyone takes the positives from last year and keeps them in their hearts to inject confidence and happiness into their future, and that you turn the negatives into learning curves to lead a wise life.

A big happy new year everyone.
